Topics and terms of fleeting and eternal life

1995-2015

This book contains articles written during the period 1995-2015 divided into two main sections. Those in the first section, ‘Topics in the Theological Encyclopaedia’, were written at the request of those responsible for the Great Orthodox Christian Encyclopaedia, and those in the second section, ‘Theological and Ecclesiastical Topics’, analyse various ecclesiastical and theological subjects of current relevance.

The topics contained in both sections, all the information about theological terms, words and ecclesiastical issues, aspire to the words of eternal life. The Church, through the Fathers, undertook a great effort and struggle to express the revelational experiences of the Prophets, Apostles and Fathers in theological terms, lest the revelational tradition be altered by the heretics of every era.

In an age when created, human, mundane things attract us, the knowledge of eternal life is everything that is longed for and awaited; it is what brings peace to the innermost depths of the human soul.
